Head of Demand Planning Center of Excellence

Your responsibilities:

The Head of the Zentiva Demand Planning Center of Excellence will be responsible for establishing and managing Zentiva's Demand Planning Center of Excellence. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring demand plans accurately reflect market and customer requirements. Furthermore, the role has accountability for continuously developing Zentiva's demand planning competencies globally. The Head of the Zentiva Demand Planning Center of Excellence serves as a key contact for the markets’ demand planning teams and ensures an accurate demand plan is submitted as input for the further planning processes, such as net requirements planning, supply and production planning, and S&OP. This role is responsible for maximizing statistical and overall forecasting performance and driving the creation and execution of demand planning processes.
The successful candidate combines strong functional and industry-specific knowledge within the Pharma/Generics industry to execute operational excellence today while providing the strategic vision and industry insight that will set the path for the future. The Head of the Zentiva Demand Planning Center of Excellence is an individual with a strong level of experience in demand planning, statistical forecasting, process design and implementation, as well as capability building and continuous performance improvement. The role further requires skills and experience in managing international teams.

  • Builds, leads, and manages Zentiva’ s new Demand Planning Center of Excellence team
  • Continuously develops Zentiva's demand planning and forecasting capabilities by
  • Defining and implementing the Zentiva standard for demand planning
  • Owning and continuously improving Zentiva’s global forecasting process and statistical forecasting tool(s), i.e., SAP APO DP, and any other tools to be implemented, in line with Zentiva’s IT strategy
  • Regular backtesting of statistical forecast to optimize selected models and parameters on a SKU-level
  • Building demand planning process and system expertise as well as key user community to enable Zentiva-wide knowledge and best-practice sharing
  • Contributes to the execution of the monthly demand planning process
  • Ensures monthly generation of statistical forecast to be shared with markets, analyzes and discusses variances and root causes with demand planners and supports ad-hoc and long-term issue mitigation
  • Validates and challenges market forecasts
  • Supports target setting and monitoring/reporting of key metrics (e.g. MAPE, BIAS) to ensure continuous forecast accuracy improvement
  • Supports markets in demand planning and S&OP processes
  • Serves as central contact person for the demand planners in the market
  • Collects requirements and feedback regarding statistical forecasting improvement (e.g. automation) and support
  • Ensures high-quality input to the monthly S&OP process by supporting markets and central SC team with the preparation of monthly meetings (country demand review and S&OP meetings)
  • Performs other tasks under the direction of the Head of Supply Chain within the agreed type of work

We require:

  • University Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or other related fields
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Pharma/Generics Industry
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Experience in leading international teams
  • Experienced in statistical forecasting and demand planning in Pharma, Generics or consumer goods industries and deep understanding of statistics & data analytics, ideally including expertise in advanced analytics, as e.g., machine-learning based forecasting
  • Deep expertise in SAP APO DP
  • Good communication and process management skills
  • Comfortable using Excel and Powerpoint
  • Fluid in English (spoken & written)
